MaryAnn and Martin own Green Farm.
MaryAnn has been a landlord and property investor for over 19 years, buying her own run down properties, doing them up and renting them out; this is where she developed a passion and flare for restoring property. Nominated by her tenants and property professionals, she was voted The Buy to Let Magazine “Landlord of the year 2010”.
She has appeared as a property expert in many articles including The Daily Telegraph, The Sunday Times and the TV programmes BBC’S “Inside Out” and BBC 1’s “homes under the hammer” featuring Green Farm.
They have stunningly restored their home Green Farm and Green Farm Barn, and have built the Spa and the Studio. Guests also experience the lifestyle of the farm. MaryAnn puts her success down to creating partnerships with uniquely talented and committed builders and professionals with trust, integrity, workmanship, team work among its key values.
Maryann and Martin also run a small-holding at Green Farm, which provides much of the food for Green Farm activities: Spa days & stays and the retreats. The farm animals are owned in a cooperative with their neighbours, Emily & Jules, sharing 33 acres of woodland and farmland, a comprehensive vegetable patch, chickens, ducks, sheep, cattle, pigs.
Coming soon – charity at Green Farm. Maryann and Martin are in the process of setting up the Pearce Coggan Foundation as a charity which will operate in the setting of Green Farm. The primary focus is working for disadvantaged children and adults, providing access to Green Farm with the opportunity to be free - get outside, get active, understand where their food comes and improve general well-being.
Catherine Farr - Community Garden Manager & Art Leader
Catherine studied painting at Wimbledon School of Art, followed by a PGCE at Goldsmiths. She has taught from 4 years old to adults, teaching a range of disciplines including drawing, painting, simple printing and mixed media.
Catherine is also passionate about wildlife gardening, growing food and the environment. She teaches wildlife gardening workshops, upcycling, food growing and other related topics.
Catherine works part-time at Green Farm developing a wildlife friendly community garden and running workshops. She is a practising artist who regularly exhibits her work. Find out more about Catherine and her work. Click here
Sally has practiced and taught yoga in all styles for over 2 decades, and now teaches a yoga class which incorporates elements of Iyengar to correct postures, Sivanada for an easy to remember routine, and Ashtanga (Vinyasa) to keep it flowing.
There is an emphasis on enjoyment through progress, uplifting and and energising the mind and body. Flowing routines help to make participation easy whether beginner or advanced, with postures to suit all levels of fitness, age and flexibility.
Classes also incorporate breathing and relaxation techniques. Sally aims to take the mysticism out of yoga, making it accessible and enjoyable to anyone new to the practice, and always challenging to those with experience. Classes will improve flexibility, strength, posture and focus, and bring calm & relaxation.
Caelia is a 200 RYT (200 hrs Registered Yoga Teacher) and has been practising for over 20 years.
An experienced and caring teacher, her classes are based on an eclectic mixture of hatha, somatics, vinyasa flows and pranayama (breathing techniques)
Working on strength and flexibility for the body, as well as pranayama and meditation for the mind;
teaching with clarity and attention for detail enabling the practitioner to experience shifts both physically and mentally.
Caelia's personal experience and continuing CPD studies have also lead her to teaching therapeutic and seated yoga to students with disabilities, special needs as well as chronic illnesses, taking her unique style of adaptive yoga to all!
Alice is a qualified Naturopath who believes that by making small changes to our food and lifestyle we can make a significant difference to our long term health. There is much to learn from the values and principles of Green Farm like eating grass fed meat and poultry, in season fruit and vegetables and using stone ground flour for home baked bread.
Alice will be cooking with you in the kitchen, using as many fresh Green Farm ingredients as possible. You will pick, prepare and eat a delicious healthy lunch and then have the opportunity to chat with Alice during and after the meal.
Alice has been slowly restoring her own health following a period of serious illness in 2011. After 18 months of visiting doctors and failing to respond to prescribed medication Alice realised that conventional medicine had no more to offer and she decided to look at other options. In 2014 Alice starting training as a Naturopathic Nutritional Therapist at the College of Naturopathic Medicine in London and qualified in 2017. In 2018 she completed her Naturopath training. Having worked hard to heal herself, with extensive learning and research, Alice now has plenty of energy to pursue her dream of supporting other people to develop a healthier lifestyle.

Personal Trainer, Jo Willemse, has brought her Woodland Workout to Green Farm, offering you a fun and varied circuits class which builds strength and stamina, and boosts your mood.
Jo has been sporty since she was a child, but it was when she discovered the world of obstacle course racing that she decided to retrain as a fitness professional. As well as one-to-one sessions and group workouts, Jo is qualified to train clients with a range of medical conditions including high blood pressure and back pain.
A strong believer that exercise is not just about the physical benefits but the impact on mental health too, Jo’s Woodland Workout is the ideal way to get fitter and feel better.
Tali has been teaching Pilates for just over 11 years. She turned to Pilates as a natural progression from being a personal trainer for a few years before that. In 2007 she qualified with one of the best teachers in the UK – Michael King Method which is an international school of the Pilates Method. She also holds a Level 4 certificate of Lower back Pain – management with exercise by the IFE. (YMCA).
Tali tend to teach more classic Pilates rather than contemporary, staying very close to the origin of the movement, teaching the 34 moves as the core of the method. It a mat based Pilates using small equipment like: soft balls, bands, foam rollers, Pilates circles, blocks and wobble boards. All the exercises can be modified to suits the level and ability of the participants a lot of attention is given to breath, spinal correction and control.
The Pilates method was invented and created about a hundred years ago by Mr Joseph Pilates, who called it Contrology, and it is still changing and growing and adapted to our modern living and life style. It primarily helps with improving posture, body awareness, improving flexibility, strengthening the core/back muscles and overtime one will feel taller, longer stronger and energised!

Recently moved to Ashford from London, Emma has been practising and teaching Yoga for over 20 years, originally in support of her career as an actress. After a life-changing trip to India, Yoga became more than a hobby for Emma and is now a way of life. Acting took a back seat, and she now shares the life-tools of Yoga, Mindfulness & Holistic living with her clients through classes, retreats and one off events.
Now a mother, Emma extends these beautiful practices into Pregnancy & Postnatal Yoga and has a passion for supporting Motherhood Wellbeing.
Emma’s teaching style has a strong focus on both the mental & physical body, incorporating Meditation, Breathwork & Self-enquiry through an alignment-focused Hatha Flow, always accompanied by a deeply nourishing relaxation (Savasana). Her personable, honest and open personality is what makes Emma’s classes so accessible and popular. You will always feel at ease in Emma’s loving hands.
Emma is thrilled to be back at Green Farm again after taking some time to grow into Motherhood. As a former tenant of Maryann’s who held her wedding in Green Farm’s Fairyland, Emma’s relationship with this stunning location and the couple who call it home is spiritually significant and deeply felt.
Charlie fell in love with yoga following a serious ankle injury. She discovered that not only did yoga assist in injury rehabilitation but had the ability to calm the mind and increase strength and flexibility in the body. This led her to Goa, India where she completed her 200 hour teacher training at Sampoorna Yoga.
Charlie designs creative, flowing sequences which enable students to reconnect to their bodies and their breath whilst building strength and flexibility. Her classes will make you smile and leave you feeling full of energy and positivity.
Charlie believes that a regular yoga practice can totally transform your life, whatever the circumstance.
Charlie has a close bond with Green Farm and has been part of the team for several years, she says that ‘teaching in the beautiful setting of Green Farm is a dream come true’.
Alex is a senior accredited yoga teacher, with over 10 years experience working in London’s top studio’s. Ongoing education and practice informs Alex’s capacity to teach yoga that is precise, gentle and transformative.
Her style of yoga is influenced by T.K.V Desikachar and therefore is not one size fits all, rather it is a deeply personal evolving practice.
Along side being a yoga teacher Alex first trained as an Actor and theatre maker, she is a Apprentice Movement Medicine Teacher and Facilitator and an Active Birthing teacher. With a background in Mindfulness Meditation, Satyananda, Ashtanga, Vini, Pregnancy and Postnatal yoga Alex is well equipped to meet the varying needs of any group or individual.
El Etherington & Jane Kitchen, Co-Founders, Wellness-Sing
El Etherington studied vocal arts and community music to Masters level, and has been a member of choirs all her life. She has experience as a music session leader in a therapeutic environment, and for 12 years ran concert tours across Europe for leading tour consultancy ACFEA.
Co-founder Jane Kitchen has a 20 year career in journalism and has spent the last five years writing about spas, wellness and luxury travel.
The genesis for Wellness-Sing came when the two cousins spent a weekend in Riga, Latvia, where Jane was writing about (and experiencing) the local pirts – a sauna tradition similar to the Russian banya – and El was in town on tour singing with the Reading Bach Choir. A weekend spent experiencing both singing and wellness led El and Jane to talk about bringing their two worlds together, and Wellness-Sing was born.
Kirsty is a spa therapist who has been trained in the ESPA treatments qualified in 2008 as a fully trained level 3 beauty therapist. Her favourite treatments to carry out are facials and pregnancy massages.
Away from work she is a mum to two beautiful girls called Lexi and Evie. If Kirsty has any spare time away from treatments, she can be found in the kitchen making her amazing chocolate brownies.
La Cantina di Stefania
Stefania grew up in the kitchen of her mum and started to love making food from when she was very young. In Italy, where she lived until 2013, Stefania did various courses, even with Michelin starred chefs as Alfredo Russo of Il Dolce Stil Novo Restaurant and Giovanni Grasso of la Credenza Restaurant. She loves easy recipes and home cooking style food, simple dishes with high quality ingredients, cooked to perfection and in an healthy way. Obviously her knowledge on food and her style is predominantly Italian, but in the last couple of years, thanks to the experience of living in a country like UK, she's starting to add to her dishes spices and flavours of other country and the results sometimes is absolutely stunning.
Stefania's passion for wine started when she was 20 when she joined a friend for the harvest of Barolo, which changed her vision about wine. When she opened the door of her restaurant in Tenterden, La Cantina, she was super excited to make her own wine list; the selection was accurate and she choose personally every single wine, after trying them of course, and from small and not industrial vineyards. She has studied wines at the Wine & Spirit Education Trust.
Stefania decided to join the Green Farm team because we have the same love for the simple things. Maryann and Martin use to be her customers at La Cantina and when she's been thinking to do a pop up event she thought it could be the perfect location.
Marie-Louise Broadhurst (MJ)
MJ is a qualified STOTT Pilates instructor. STOTT Pilates is based on biomechanics and exercise science and utilises the most up to date scientific advances whilst building on Joseph Pilates original ideology.
Working with clients’ individual needs, MJ’s classes focus on proper physical alignment to ensure the recruitment of the correct muscles. The concentration on Core strength results in improved posture and movement.
Having discovered Pilates through back pain, MJ is passionate about the difference Pilates can make in our everyday lives and the importance of spinal and skeletal health to our changing daily habits.
MJ’s classes are open to and cater for all ages and abilities.
One to one sessions are also available. These include a full postural analysis of any deviations or issues, and creation of a personalised program designed to correct them
