Wellness-Sing with Nightingales Retreat

with Jane Kitchen and El Etherington

Friday May 1st to Sunday May 3rd

"I love singing, but have never been in a choir or singing group before. I found the weekend to be brilliantly inspiring and very well taught and put together by tour leaders and singing coach. It was such a happy atmosphere and it didn't matter what your ability was. It was fun, challenging, relaxing, invigorating and spiritual all in one, and in a stunning setting too."

Where is the event?

In the beautiful glass yoga studio at Green Farm, although deep in the countryside it benefits from being 10 minutes’ drive from the Fast link service which is just 37 minutes from St Pancras

Can anyone come?

All levels welcome (adults only). While seasoned singers will enjoy the scope of these sessions, no prior experience of singing is necessary, and many activities will be focussed around finding your voice and discovering what it can do. We encourage anyone with an interest in how singing can impact your overall health, both physical and mental, to come and enjoy this weekend with us!

Regarding the sound healing session on the Sunday: As a precaution, gong / sound meditation is not recommended for pregnant women in their 1st trimester, or those with pacemakers. Please be aware that during the sound healing session, sound sensitive conditions e.g. Tinnitus, Ménière's Disease, and Epilepsy, and those with medical metal implants e.g. pins, rods, screws and plates, may be affected by the sounds and vibrations.

Get in touch with Sarah (sarah@seing.co) if you have any questions, concerns or conditions she should be aware of.

Do I need a swimsuit?

If you’re also going to use the spa facilities, yes! But no water is used in a sound / gong bath. You’ll be ‘bathed’ and cleansed in sound waves and vibrations.

What if I can’t meditate?

No prior experience is needed, simple guided meditations and sound baths are the perfect way to start! In the evening, the sounds and vibrations of the gongs will gently ease you into a deep, automatic state of meditation and relaxation (alpha state), dreaming (theta state) and deep healing sleep (delta state).

Food

At Green Farm we have a very simple philosophy around eating healthily - cook fresh, home-produce when possible, use minimum processed foods, served as nature intended and cater to whatever dietary requirements you may have, whether you are here for a retreat, Spa Day or Stay. We like to cook 'in season' when we can with as much as possible coming from the Green Farm Community Wildlife Vegetable Garden and, of course, from our own farm animals. We are guided by our in-house naturopath, Alice Yeates, and we work with suppliers who share the same values as us.
