Art & Wildlife Gardening
We run a number of different workshops and retreats at Green Farm focusing on Art and Wildlife Gardening, presented by our community wildlife vegetable garden creator and manager, Catherine Farr.
Weekly Art Class
Every Monday from 11th February 2018
6pm - 8pm: £10 per person
Join us in a friendly and supportive art class for all abilities. Bring a piece of work that you want to make or let Catherine guide you through the formal elements of creating art work.
Come along for 1 1/2 hours of drawing or painting in our hay barn under the expert tuition of Catherine Farr. Includes all materials
Keeping a nature diary – use the beautiful surroundings of Green Farm to create a visual memory of your visit.
‘Sticking’ – learn to use a variety of materials to create a piece of work. Unleash your inner child!
Painting with acrylic from observation. Use the glorious surroundings to learn how to create your own piece of work using acrylic paint. Techniques on using acrylic paint included.
All classes are for all abilities. Catherine has 27 years teaching experience of all ages and abilities
£15pp (minimum £65).
Immersion - a day of exploring drawing & painting in the community garden
Sunday 11 August 2019 from 10am to 3pm, including Green Farm lunch:
£65 per person
Starting with sketchbook pages we will develop this into a larger piece of work using various media. Bring a sketchbook and board plus the materials of your choice. Catherine will have large paper and some materials.
A light lunch made with the community garden produce, home made bread & cake
Please wear sunblock and a hat.

Forget weedkiller, pesticides and other chemicals and learn how to work with nature to create you own flower and vegetable garden that encourages abundant wildlife. You could leave with your own mini-wildlife garden in a seed tray. If you are a group and you would like to have your own private workshop, please contact us.
Colour in the Countryside
10am to 3pm, including lunch: £55 per person
You will get an understanding of using acrylic paint and how to compose a painting from observation. You will leave with your own colour composition of our wonderful wildlife garden.
Weekend Art Retreat

Catherine studied painting at Wimbledon School of Art, followed by a PGCE at Goldsmiths. She has taught from 4 years old to adults, teaching a range of disciplines including drawing, painting, simple printing and mixed media.
Catherine is also passionate about wildlife gardening, growing food and the environment. She teaches wildlife gardening workshops, upcycling, food growing and other related topics.
Catherine works part-time at Green Farm developing a wildlife friendly community garden and running workshops. She is a practising artist who regularly exhibits her work. Find out more about Catherine and her work. Click here
