We run a number of different workshops, classes and retreats at Green Farm focusing on Art and Wildlife Gardening, presented by our community wildlife vegetable garden creator and manager, Catherine Farr.
Classes & Retreats
Quarterly half-day Art Retreats
May, September, November (see below)
Each half-day will have a specific art & nature focus and includes:
Art gathering 10:00am - 1:00pm
Light Green Farm Lunch 1:00pm
Depart approx 2:00pm
Includes art materials (bring your own sketch-book if you like), refreshments on arrival and mid-morning break. Suitable for all abilities
31st May: Making an animal portrait using mixed media. Bring your own photograph of a beloved pet or work from images of the Green Farm livestock or local wildlife
13th September: Painting with acrylic from observation. Use the glorious surroundings to learn how to create your own piece of work using acrylic paint, practicing a variety of techniques.
15th November: Making Christmas sustainable. Create your own artistic wrapping paper, gift cards, tree decorations etc.
Come along for 1 1/2 hours of drawing or painting in our hay barn studio under the expert tuition of Catherine Farr. Includes all materials
£15pp (minimum £65).
All classes are for all abilities. Catherine has 27 years teaching experience of all ages and abilities
Weekend Art Retreat
Friday to Sunday 15th May - 17th May 2020. From £495 per person

Catherine studied painting at Wimbledon School of Art, followed by a PGCE at Goldsmiths. She has taught from 4 years old to adults, teaching a range of disciplines including drawing, painting, simple printing and mixed media.
Catherine is also passionate about wildlife gardening, growing food and the environment. She teaches wildlife gardening workshops, upcycling, food growing and other related topics.
Catherine works part-time at Green Farm developing a wildlife friendly community garden and running workshops. She is a practising artist who regularly exhibits her work. Find out more about Catherine and her work. Click here
