Workshops with Alex Hanly
Inner Stillness

Meditation is a core practice of yoga; it is a practice of cultivating awareness. You don’t have to be an aesthetic monk to reap the benefits of this profound and time-tested practice.

During this workshop we explore yoga’s postural, breathing, meditation and relaxation practices to create a deeply nourishing space in which you can slow down and notice how you truly are. Moving and connecting to the physical body is essential for a successful meditation practice, particularly for modern day human who are often sedentary and disconnected to their physical bodies.

So, we will begin the day in movement to prepare the body mind to sit comfortably and quietly. Through meditation better termed awareness cultivation you can recognise who or what you are beyond the limited experience of yourself as a body/mind. And experientially explore questions like "who am I?" or "what am I?".

Exploration of this kind bring greater depth, richness and meaning to life and steady you in your centre. Alex Hanly has been practicing and teaching yoga and meditation most of her life. She will guide you clearly and gently through this workshop at the end of it you will be ready to take these practices and begin to integrate them into your everyday life.

Alex is a senior accredited yoga teacher, with over 10 years experience working in London’s top studio’s. Her style of yoga is influenced by T.K.V Desikachar and therefore is not one size fits all, rather it is a deeply personal evolving practice. Alex is a mother, an Apprentice teacher and facilitator to the School of Movement Medicine and Theatre Maker. Food

From homecooked meals made with home-grown produce to dinner parties and celebrations catered by a private chef, food is an important part of life at Green Farm.

At Green Farm we have a very simple philosophy around eating healthily - cook fresh, home-produce when possible, minimum processed foods, served as nature intended. We like to cook 'in season' as much as possible with as much coming from the Green Farm Wildlife Vegetable Garden as possible and, of course, from our own farm animals.

Our bread is baked daily, our cakes are made with freshly-laid eggs, and the soup bubbling on the hob is packed with vegetables from our gardens.. Our in-house Nutritional Therapist and Naturopath, Alice Yeates, helps us to ensure our meals are nutritious and balanced.

We can cater for a range of dietary requirements and will happily discuss your needs in advance of your stay with us.
